NC State has been one of the nation’s most compelling teams over the first four weeks of the season thanks to a mixture of explosive potential and the absence of any real tests on the schedule. Even after scoring 63 points in a road game against South Alabama, the Wolfpack sits just outside of the highest bowl tier and comes in 5th in the ACC power rankings. While NC State fans and college football pundits both yearn for a useful comparison against quality competition, we’ll all have to wait at least another week for true answers as 1-3 Louisville heads to town. The frustration is boiling over with some fellow members of the media, such as Louisville columnist Rick Bozich.
Is N.C. State, Louisville’s opponent Saturday, the Most Faux 4-0 in the nation? Why, yes. http://t.co/hPRp3SGg3C

Bobby Petrino’s Cardinals hung tight with Clemson in an emotional game, but lost at home to Houston and were outclassed by SEC bottom-feeder Auburn in the opening weekend. Dave Doeren’s Wolfpack is surely excited about welcoming a Power 5 team to the reschedule, regardless of pedigree, but it has to be frustrating for a team who truly could be one of the best stories of the season to continue to live on as a hypothetical in the mind of most voters.
NC State will be hosting Louisville as part of our 22-game College Football Day in NC initiative to reach over 150,000 cumulative fans at NC college games on October 3rd. Kickoff is at 12:30 on the ACC Network.
