Undefeated TCU an undefeated Oklahoma State met on the gridiron on Saturday. Most expected a high scoring Big 12 affair, as did Las Vegas who set the total over/under of this game at 75.5
Heading into the 4th quarter, this game was a blowout with Oklahoma State leading 42-16 (58 total points). Those expecting that over of 75.5 begin to worry as they need 3 touchdowns in the final frame.
Fast forward to 3 minutes remaining, TCU scores to cut the lead to 42-29 (71). There is little to doubt for the outcome in this game but as you all know there is plenty of time for silliness to ensue. The backdoor is open for the over to hit. Oklahoma State goes 3 and out to punt to TCU with 1 minute-ish remaining. 5 plays later the backdoor gets blown wide open when TCU QB Trevone Boykin throws a pass to Chad Whitener.
The problem is Whitener plays for Oklahoma State. A bigger problem is instead of Whitener just falling on the ground to effectively end the game, he decides to prance into the endzone to make the score 49-29 (78).
Yup, two touchdowns in the final 3 minutes in a game where the outcome was long decided kills an under bet for those sad souls.
