SEASON OUTLOOK
Berry, Britt, Jackson, Hicks and Meeks are a great starting five on paper, but it’s about time these guys (Berry excluded, who was fantastic last season) start realizing some of the potential that we’ve heard about since they committed to Roy Williams. If they can, the Heels are in for a really fun season without much pressure. If they can’t. Williams will have to hand the ball to a group of freshmen to take control of the program which is something you’d expect to see more in Durham or Lexington than Chapel Hill. The weight of the world was on UNC last year, and with that burden shipped 9 miles down the road for this year, Tar Heel fans get to enjoy what few fan bases ever get to experience … a really good team without a lot of expectations. Can Roy keep this group loose? Can Roy keep himself loose? Both of those remain to be seen, but they’re certainly key components to potentially successful season.
