Needing a victory in their final regular season game to qualify for a bowl, NC State hosted a dreadful Maryland Terrapins team. The Wolfpack were 11 point favorites (This is important to remember) and seemed headed toward the Belk Bowl with a victory.
Of course when NC State has any sort of “destiny” in their own hands, things don’t go as well as planned sometimes…
NC State found themselves down 41-14 in the 3rd quarter. Down 27 points to a 2 win team at home. Seems like a NC State thing to do.
They went onto score 28 more to take a 49-41 lead late in the 4th quarter. For good measure a NC State pick 6 with less than 30 seconds left gave NC State a 15 point victory and ridiculous cover of the 11 point spread.
